appreciate and I am from Bear Valley Unified School District Gina Palmer she's always so gracious to allow us to do this week I want to welcome our community tonight and we are really excited about this collaboration with Jesse Rogers from Rim services so I'm going to introduce here to Jesse Rogers 100 awesome love you thank you so much for coming out we're really passionate about money to bring education to the community about what some of the drugs friends are that are happening and how it's affecting us as a community so often we think everything's happening down the hill right and like you said my name is Jesse Rogers I'm going to break your task force Coalition are gold agencies to reduce underage access and use of drugs and alcohol Community swim meet the third Thursday of every month from 12:30 to 1:30 at the PTO clutch book store just off of Knickerbocker and Peta right by the village we're always looking for more people to be a part of that Coalition and I'll talk a bit more about that as we finish up and if we can't have our call to Ashman and what we're going to do in the community as parents are those that want to see our kids grow up safe and yeah so with that we're really excited detective Travis my camera with us today that's going to bring some extra we are on live on YouTube don't care if I know a lot of our parents by U2 so we welcome you also Miami Travis white Hummer was connected with Mary Jane currently working in our products I'm just trying to alleviate a sports in Riverside I actually work on the shed building and we have tasted all over the nation that we do my heart is here and Baker though I was just resident big bearing what shall I do I am also on the overdose response team we respond to all overdoses can I have some and just repair. They are confronted with p.m. on west side in the first on the other no longer type of pharmaceutical drug in the morning every time anytime that you see this particular drug is going to be an elusive drug meaning that is not going to be in pain what before see if you see details like 9 times out of 10 I must be fine, let's just find some old medication in their Grandma's cupboard take me to send my location to most of our overdose related cases involving particular pills and then the other cartels are not producing it so I'm also on the so I respond to clandestine Labs all over the county as well we see in pretty much all of our drugs are being produced in Mexico being produced I've been converting methamphetamine last in Mexico because it's easier for noose it has no organic property everything who made who made in the last it's generated last from start to finish so you have like the cocaine your cocaine's are under some organic properties plants to extract opium into make me cocaine heroin fentanyl everything is synthetic everything is made in the last so what they're doing is they're taking these men Lassiter converting them really Google Maps you know I am I come from kind of the restaurant background so I keep it in allergy like hey I could buy eggs for Priscilla say a dollar today or I can buy an eighth for $0.05 which way you going to buy you going to buy the cheapest that's what Mexico doing they're bringing these chemicals into making a cheaper product is being able to sell it for the same price as the other stuff we are also seeing fentanyl in in the number of different factions in the powder he sold his cocaine and then also they're mixing it or making it into heroin by putting it into like a brown tar substance and given it to smell up here but it has straight let's go the next time I'm here for more fentanyl examples Farrell Equipment in counterfeit Xanax bars kind of not taking that lately, and then those are some of the guys so when I I was talking about them making the Sentinel in lab what they're doing if you want to go to the next flight I think there's a press next one so they're so what they're doing is they're taking a cow Sentinel are putting it into a bucket there put their binding agents which are normally like Tylenol and and a few other binding agents to keep the medication together and that they're putting it into a Kolcraft and they're just pressed do they mix fentanyl in with all this other stuff and mix it up in the tub they throw it in the machine and and and go to town the problem is that you have no faith they don't know how much they going to put me one of those they have they have like at 1 NG or an anagram of fentanyl into it the other one might have some in a gram of Fentanyl and anywhere between 49 and a g of fat what pills can kill you in we don't know how much is in one you want to go to the next line so like I said that so we're seeing in the powder that heroin 1/4 of them putting it on marijuana now like like putting it the powder on to it, but we're staying at a bunch different way so the most common ways is smoking it in tinfoil chasing the dragon Little Caesars pizza 12 or put a little bit on there so far in the bottom and he's a strong and he'll the papers coming off of it crushing a pill for you not straight powder and I'm injection for heroin and then swallowing it I want to go to Netflix okay so now you kind of know what that's all in I want to go into what her issue is over the last several years we've seen the net seen an uptick in overdose related death experience quite a few of them because of the drug traffickers bringing up here when we originally started seeing it and still see it now is that these Visa pharmaceutical these m-30 pills aren't just drug addict you know that we always  to her head that is using it could be used by multiple different walks of life so you have the drug user that's obviously getting stuff maybe even unfortunately started. Taking some some opiate for the pain management recovered from his injury but got addicted to the pain prescription anymore so he's going to a local drug dealer now buying and thinking that they are in fact oxycodone an opiate prescription medication but in fact I meant do you have the soap operas kids that are getting introduced like hey it's just the pill no big deal like how you can get when you get a little buzz off of it and is there so many different walks of life that he's our targeting that's why we're having such an you know last year 2021 you know what are the most deaths in the country where the highest death rate the cause of death was anybody it wasn't covid I'll tell you for sure who is this right here overdoses would speak most deaths in the country last year you want to go to the next line okay so these are some old staff 700 46 LA County LA County 2018 when we started seeing in the in the sun all uses 8:42 and 2019 I don't have 20 24 2021 Saint stopped but a 2020 we had almost 12:00 opioid-related deaths 887 Wern Baldwin so we're going from half to almost 80% so here's our entire national average of adjusting 20 right around the first 500 race across the country so what's San Bernardino County Sheriff Department decided to start an overdose response team and what our main goal was is to overdose overdose related deaths and start investigating the crime and seeing if we can play distributor for the dealers that sell just the victims of poison so we started in February 2021 we did it as an artillery auxiliary Duty so stay picked take me to Sisters cannabis for about 8 to 10 of us picked up Santana start going to these overdose related death on an arm called on basement so I'm getting all out at 2 o clock in the morning driving to Victorville Rancho wherever you go deal with these overdose related death we we have one case we have several cases that are are ready to be prosecuted I want to set up a files felony murder charges on first-degree murder charges and because that's the first of its kind in San Bernardino County tell me what does the court system we haven't we haven't prosecuted the murder charge on the overdoses yet so I'll give you a brief description and kind update on that particular case cuz that's one of my cases that went there we had a 17 year old kids who died in Chino Hills. Be a blue m30 crest I got that was snorting discovered there was other pills that was located in there through beans on his social media Urban movies dealer was and we were able to contact the dealer and Order drugs from him posing as the victim when she delivered we were formally arrested in to the search warrant in the presented it to the District Attorney's office district attorney felt that it was a strong case and strong enough to Crystal murder chart looks like we're going to try p.m. to life because this is kind of the case that we want to highlight in the one that we want to put because it's a very strong case I really do too much before going to trial next but it's really really strong case and the DEA wants to go okay yes we can charge murder on other pieces if it does go through the court if he does get convicted of murder so in an hour we're doing on with overdose mean you want to go to the next line I think the next one I just talked about that I'm so our response criteria right now with overdosing and pinned I feel dimensions in February 2021 we did a pilot program with it being an auxiliary Duty so we're going we have a regular job that we're doing that on the side we just they just are finding some money and stuff planted some grants to make it a full-time permanent team is there's going to be a group of investigators and all they do is go out and investigate these overdose related deaths so right now we are only doing responding to calls that the victims has passed away or there are multiple victims in one place so I saved a bunch of kids got together in three or four overdose but nobody died we will still respond to two different things and then try to get to the ones that are involving juveniles as well even if they do pass away and then we're not doing suicide with prescription pills and then try to run it as far as we can it's really hard to investigate place you go and and you have the victim and you have his phone and the phone is locked and try to get into it and in you search every Avenue we just we come up short we like I don't know where to go because he could have bought something got a street corner in about an hour. Who knows who knows how they could have bought this particular it's really hard but we will investigate it as far as it can go do you want to go next line so there is a there is a statute with the feds where you can charge great bodily injuries specificity + light is in here so any directions on the bedside the US's office can charged anybody that distributes with with grapes if somebody passes out or hasn't overdosed reaction we can charge them and it's a 20-year 20 years had on 2% the problem with the feds is June easy everything has to be perfect and none of these chickens are perfect by any means we have one going right now and I think they dropped turn off but they're going to charge him and then he's going to get like 15 years so which I mean it's a win on our road cuz if you've dealt with the with the justice system in San Bernardino or LA County you know like 50 years Spotify call Sophie's are the state charges that were trying to go after 2752 91-90 which is manslaughter 347 so 347 is poison play you can you can on on the murder charge you can say like hey this person poison him and killed him for murder trying to do with my case we're trying to say that the victim didn't know that it was a with fentanyl and it was a prescription drug he was taking a prescription that drug dealer New but was inside of your stomach. A lot of the foaming from the mouth so when you're so if you ever come in contact with the stuff you ever see it or something to wear to make sure you're wearing your your pee be your next year whatever you can use don't touch it if you do but if you have I'm next 50 don't touch a boy substance going airborne and they called that these law enforcement if you see anything like this anywhere powder things I don't know what to do. You will come in and take it for you so that's why I put this one in here cuz it's cuz it's kind of rough but that's the story. Southwest no Percocets me that's murder she did not make the choice that she wanted to die that night he thought he was getting the team and she got it for the low everybody knew it can be anybody but you kept me from you just never know what you're going to get from anybody it is never ever seen it I take anything from anybody anymore it's not like back in the day when we used to experiment and we could take a pill and we wouldn't die it's not like that no custis place you never had a chance and like I said earlier set a time to us to make the impact on this community find Freddy the awareness that is going to be our biggest key in spreading awareness of exactly what system do community events showing what this is doing and how it's affecting everybody I have stepped up to the plate for my son because I want to make sure that you did not pass away and I got my community together asking them to help me bring out we're done and I have a seat belt for his first year anniversary coming up on May 7th Apartments I got the community together and all the resources and they've all helped me get it a game of skate provided to dry in the kids as well as free food and prizes raffle tickets for anybody else shows up because we want to bring everybody in this is not just taking our children is taking adults to search everybody's from children uncle and all sorts of people are dying from this we've got to draw them in from everywhere because it's not just the kids that don't know what they're Take It song that have fallen victim to addiction and it's also people that just thought they could casually have a party for a birthday anyting thinking they could just go and get a little bit of trouble for one night to have a good time and they're losing their life it has all kinds of people it is not just a specific type of at this event we're going to be having an overdose reenactment with fentanyl because I think it's important to teach the community what it looks what does an overdose of the week of the educated on what we're witnessing and also to see where miss that Narcan should be placed in everybody is home because you never know even if it's not your family could be somebody's coming to visit youth that just might need to be saved and it should be of purses or cars or in your home we need Narcan everywhere until week try to get control over this and make you aware this get people to not want to take this stuff anymore but it has to start with all of us together by holding events like this to make everybody else the resources are in every community all you have to do is reach out and if you're not getting success from person go to another I guarantee you you will find somebody that just going to jump in and be compassionate and help so we've got awareness McDonald's Fred we've got the prevention of death by using Arcane that we need to make people aware of and we've got resources in the community I would love to see everybody participates been spreading all of this so that we can save more lives orthodontic and for everything else. I know the drugs to fight another way to here I want to thank you guys so much 7334 doesn't comment share their story again I just encourage us to think about personal impact it may have for yourself and for those that you're around and how we can spread that education and what's going on and how we could use the support to our or used for those that weren't around be a listening ear whatever it is look out for those sign are called to action today is is that in addition to other way is that we as a community chance in and I just wanted to kind of point that out like I mentioned before we have to break through task force Coalition he's mission is to reduce under-eye to access and use of drugs and alcohol within the community I need the third Thursday of every month 3 to 130 right now it's kind of a small group but I know everything gets blamed on covid-19 ups for you can come in I'm online and joy play a part of the solution rather than the problem and please we need some more Coalition members to help me work on different policies within the community of campaigns like education like this today we were gone since like cities such as have an art show in his art show coming up next Friday night May 7th from 4 to 6 over at the Community Church in the old historic Chapel so way that we can highlight are using their talents in an outlet also have coming up this weekend is National that is a great way for us to take our old and expired prescriptions or things maybe that we're not using and to dispose of them in a proper way please don't flush him down the toilet the water system and then to we want to make sure that it stays out of the hands of our youth or anyone that might be having a problem with addiction and so you can go by the Big Bear sheriff station from 10 to 2 and they'll be collecting prescriptions there Fox is there an available 24/7 so if you can't make it for prescription please utilize that back anytime you can is on the outside there in available they do not take sharp or aerosol or language I'm also another way that you guys can help with the break-in task force and other ancillary Services we do campaign that's that we used to kind of push forward what perception survey so that we know what's going on with you how we can better provide education and maybe provide different policy and so we have those reviews in a digital format that you can take over here and you can scan it QR codes or we have a few more of the physical copies if you fill out a survey you'll get it ticket and then we're doing it opportunity drawing and just a little bit more he can also win some Reynolds to Captain John's you guys helped us about being there for help others and then lastly I just want you guys to come over here in general. alcohol is actually less than those that don't so more kids are not using drugs and alcohol this is Sigma is that kids are they all are so why aren't we hearing the voices of the ones that aren't you
